A New Chapter Added to the Duster Story
A new special edition of the Duster has been rolled out by Renault India. The Duster Adventure Edition has been priced from Rs 12.99 lakh, ex-showroom. This edition is being seen as the second special version after the Iconic Edition was introduced earlier.
Inspired by the Mountains of Leh
The story behind this edition is quite interesting. A special decal has been added on the rear quarter panel. Topographical contour lines and the coordinates of Leh, 34.27 N and 77.60 E, have been etched onto it. This has been done as a tribute to the terrain where the Duster was tested extensively. The same motif has been carried onto the front door plaques as well. Branded floor mats have also been included as part of the package.
Built on a Well Loaded Base
This edition has reportedly been based on the Evolution trim. However, features from the higher Techno trim have also been borrowed. A panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate and dual zone AC have been added to sweeten the deal. A 10.1 inch touchscreen, 7 inch TFT display and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay have also been retained.
A Smart Value Proposition
An interesting angle has come up around this launch. The Adventure Edition has been positioned as a smarter buy than the standard Techno variant. Despite offering a similar feature list, this edition has been priced nearly Rs 40,000 to 50,000 lower. This move is likely to be appreciated by value conscious buyers.

Power Options Remain Unchanged
No changes have been made to the engine lineup for this special edition. A 1.0 litre three cylinder turbo petrol motor is offered, producing 100hp and 160Nm. Only a 6 speed manual gearbox has been paired with this engine. A larger 1.3 litre four cylinder turbo petrol unit is also offered. This engine makes 163hp and 280Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options have been made available with it.
Six Airbags Offered as Standard
Safety has not been ignored in this edition. Six airbags have been offered as standard equipment across the range. All LED lighting elements have also been retained from the regular lineup. This has been done to keep the Duster relevant in a competitive segment.
A Fitting Ode to Adventure
This edition seems to have been crafted keeping true SUV enthusiasts in mind. The Leh inspired theme adds a sense of purpose to the cosmetic changes. Practical features have also been bundled in without a steep price hike. Renault appears to be betting on emotional appeal along with genuine value.
