The Flying Spur Gets a Proper Refresh, And a Sportier Soul

Bentley does not rush things. When a new Flying Spur arrives, it arrives with purpose. The 2026 Bentley Flying Spur has now been officially unveiled and it brings with it a sharper design, a new S variant and a plug-in hybrid powertrain across the entire range. Production is set to begin at Bentley’s factory in Crewe, United Kingdom, in September 2026. Five variants will be on offer Standard, S, Azure, Speed and Mulliner. Each one targets a slightly different kind of buyer. But all of them share one thing in common the kind of effortless luxury that only Bentley consistently delivers.

Styling That Borrows From the Continental GT

The most immediately visible change on the new Flying Spur is how it looks. The design has been pulled noticeably closer to the Continental GT Bentley’s celebrated grand tourer coupe. Up front, a large criss-cross grille dominates the face, flanked by round LED headlights with a clean horizontal DRL streak running through each unit. The criss-cross pattern continues into the lower bumper grille as well. The signature Bentley winged emblem sits above the grille available in different finishes depending on which variant is chosen.

Towards the rear, the boot lid has been redesigned with smoother surfaces and cleaner lines. New 22-inch wheel finishes are available on the Azure and S variants, with 21-inch options also on the menu. The S variant gets additional visual character through Bentley’s Blackline Specification. Black detailing is applied across the winged emblem, grille, headlamps, exterior lettering and door mirrors. It is a subtle but effective way of giving the S a sportier road presence without changing the overall silhouette.

One Powertrain Family, Two States of Tune

Every single variant of the new Flying Spur uses the same basic architecture a 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with a 25.9kWh plug-in hybrid setup. An 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive come as standard across the board. What changes between variants is the state of tune.

The Standard, Azure and S variants produce 680hp and 930Nm of torque. The S, however, gets the active anti-roll bars and adaptive dampers from the Speed and Mulliner giving it sharper body control and a more focused driving character. Its 0-100kmph time is claimed at 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 308kmph. The Standard and Azure manage the same 308kmph top speed but take 3.9 seconds to reach 100kmph.

In the Speed and Mulliner variants, the plug-in hybrid system is tuned to 782hp and 1,000Nm. Both reach 100kmph in 3.5 seconds. In pure electric mode, all variants produce 190hp and 450Nm with an 80km electric-only range on a single charge, as claimed by Bentley.

Inside, Every Variant Tells Its Own Story

Step inside any variant of the new Flying Spur and the quality of materials is immediately apparent. What differs is the character each cabin is dressed in. The Standard variant gets hand-finished Nappa leather seats with Dinamica fabric on the roof lining and rear headrest cushions. Wood and piano black trim options are available. The Azure brings variant-specific badges, leather-wrapped door panels and a choice of single-tone or dual-tone cabin layouts. A dark chrome finish option adds a contemporary edge.

The S variant leans into its sporting brief with Dinamica fabric on the seats, dashboard, gear lever and steering wheel. S-specific badges appear on the treadplates and seat backs. Laser-etched veneer and metal inlay trim options are available for those who want to personalise further.

The Speed features performance graphics in the driver’s display, sports pedals and Speed embroidery on the seat backs. Wood, aluminium and Cotes de Geneve finishes are available inside.

The Mulliner is the most opulent of the five with Nappa leather throughout, contrast stitching, a signature Mulliner clock and an exceptionally wide choice of trim finishes. Both the Azure and Mulliner receive 24-way adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation and massage, along with 14-way adjustable rear seats.

Technology That Keeps Up With the Luxury

A 12.3-inch touchscreen is fitted as standard across the range. The rotating version of this screen which hides the display when not needed is standard on the Mulliner and available as an option on the other variants. “Wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging and USB-C connectivity are all part of the package”. A panoramic sunroof comes as standard on the Azure and Mulliner and is available as an option elsewhere. A dedicated remote control is also provided for functions including seat massage, audio controls and various comfort settings. It is the kind of thoughtful detail that reminds you exactly what segment this car operates in.

The Sound System Deserves Its Own Mention

Audio choices on the new Flying Spur are serious business. Three options are available a 650W Bentley Signature Audio system, a 1,500W Bang and Olufsen setup, and a 2,220W Naim for Bentley system with 18 speakers. The top-spec Naim system was originally developed for the limited-run Bentley Batur. Its inclusion here even as an option is a meaningful upgrade for buyers who take their in-car audio seriously.
