Tata Brings Back An Icon In Electric Form
Tata Sierra EV Launched in India at an introductory price of Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric SUV arrives months after the ICE-powered Sierra and enters one of India’s fastest-growing EV segments. It will compete against the Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV and VinFast VF6. Bookings have started, while deliveries are scheduled to begin from 15 July.
Two Battery Choices With AWD Option
The Tata Sierra EV has been offered with 63kWh and 75kWh battery packs. A rear-wheel-drive layout has been provided as standard across both battery options. Buyers choosing the larger battery can also opt for a dual-motor all-wheel-drive version. The AWD variant develops 504Nm of torque. A claimed 0-100kmph sprint of 5.8 seconds has been achieved in Boost Mode. The SUV also receives six terrain modes. These include Normal, Grass/Snow, Mud/Gravel, Sand, Rock Crawl and Custom. Low-speed cruise control and a 540-degree camera have also been included for off-road driving.

Range And Charging
The 75kWh battery delivers a claimed 665km MIDC range, while the 63kWh version offers 565km. Fast charging support has also been improved. Tata claims over 250km of driving range can be added in 15 minutes using a 120kW DC fast charger.
A 20 to 80 percent charge is claimed to take around 26 minutes. Like other Tata electric vehicles, the Sierra EV comes with a 15-year battery warranty, described by the company as a lifetime warranty.
Fresh EV Styling Without Losing The Sierra Identity
The overall design has been kept close to the ICE Sierra. The front gets a revised bumper with more gloss black elements and a closed grille design. The familiar LED light bar has been retained, while EV-specific badging helps distinguish the electric model. Flush door handles, new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, revised skid plates and Sierra EV lettering at the rear complete the exterior changes. Ground clearance stands at 205mm.
Premium Cabin Loaded With Technology
The cabin layout remains similar to the ICE Sierra but receives EV-specific colour themes. A triple-screen dashboard dominates the interior. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting and a 12-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos. Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, connected car technology, digital key, OTA updates, heads-up display, Boss Mode, powered tailgate and DrivePay have also been included. Boot space measures 622 litres, which expands to 1,257 litres after folding the rear seats.

Safety Gets Equal Attention
Safety equipment has been strengthened across the range. The Sierra EV comes with six airbags as standard, Level 2 ADAS, electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic parking brake with auto hold, tyre pressure monitoring system and park assist. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging functions have also been offered.
