Bajaj Chetak Gets Smarter and Faster in 2026: Google Maps, Higher Top Speed and Ride Modes Now Standard

Bajaj Auto has upgraded the entire Chetak electric scooter lineup for 2026 with Google Maps integration, higher top speeds, OTA updates, ride modes and hill hold assist. Here’s everything new in the updated Chetak C Series range.

Bajaj Auto Gives the Chetak a Major Tech and Performance Upgrade

Bajaj Auto has rolled out one of the biggest updates yet for the Chetak electric scooter lineup, bringing a long list of technology, performance and convenience upgrades across the portfolio. The updated range now adopts a new ‘C Series’ naming strategy, consisting of the C 35, C 30 and C 25 series.

The biggest highlight of the update is the addition of integrated Google Maps navigation on the flagship C 35 01, making the Chetak one of the more connected electric scooters in the segment. Along with that, Bajaj has also increased top speeds across the lineup, improved charging times, introduced standard ride modes and enabled OTA software updates on select variants.

With competition in the electric scooter market intensifying rapidly, this update feels less like a routine refresh and more like Bajaj sharpening the Chetak for the next phase of the EV battle.

Google Maps Navigation Finally Comes to the Chetak

The flagship C 35 01 now gets integrated Google Maps support through the Chetak app ecosystem. According to Bajaj, this was one of the most requested features from existing customers.

Unlike basic turn-by-turn systems seen on many scooters, full Google Maps integration offers a much more familiar interface and practical usability for daily commuting. For urban riders constantly navigating traffic-heavy cities, this upgrade adds genuine real-world convenience.

Bajaj has also enabled Over-the-Air (OTA) updates on the C 35 01 and C 35 02, allowing software improvements and feature upgrades to happen remotely without visiting a service centre.

Faster Than Before: Top Speed Increased Across the Lineup

Performance has received a noticeable boost across the range.

The C 35 01 and C 35 02 now deliver a top speed of 80 km/h, up from 73 km/h. Meanwhile, the C 35 03 and C 30 01 now reach 70 km/h instead of 63 km/h. Even the entry-level C 25 01 gets an upgrade from 55 km/h to 60 km/h.

The flagship model also sees motor output increase from 4.5 kW to 4.8 kW, promising better acceleration and stronger ride response in city conditions.

These numbers may look small on paper, but in everyday urban riding, the difference between 60 and 80 km/h is substantial especially for overtakes, flyovers and faster city commutes.

Ride Modes and Hill Hold Are Now Standard

In a move that will likely please buyers, Bajaj has now made Ride Modes and Hill Hold Assist standard on the C 35 and C 30 series.

Previously offered as paid add-ons, these features are now integrated directly into the scooters. Riders can switch between Eco and Sports modes depending on riding conditions, while Hill Hold adds extra confidence during stop-and-go traffic or incline starts.

This makes the updated Chetak feel more complete as a premium urban EV package rather than a feature-limited commuter scooter.

Charging Time Improved on the C 3001

Bajaj has also worked on charging efficiency.

The C 3001 now charges from 0-80% in just 2 hours and 55 minutes, down from the earlier 3 hours and 50 minutes. Faster charging continues to become a critical factor in EV ownership, especially for users without overnight charging convenience.

Range figures across the portfolio now stand at:

  • C 3501 / C 3502 – 153 km
  • C 3503 – 151 km
  • C 3001 – 127 km
  • C 2501 – 113 km

These are competitive numbers for urban electric scooters in the current market.

TecPac Unlocks Additional Smart Features

Bajaj is also continuing its TecPac strategy, allowing customers to unlock extra connected features starting from ₹3,000 onwards.

Depending on the variant, TecPac features include:

  • Music controls
  • Guide-me-home lights
  • Anti-theft functions
  • Geo fencing
  • Overspeed alerts
  • Accident detection
  • Remote immobilization
  • Sequential blinkers
  • Notification alerts on the cluster

The flagship C 3501 gets the most comprehensive connected feature set, including document storage on the display cluster and sequential rear indicators.

Bajaj Repositioning the Chetak!

The electric scooter market has evolved rapidly over the last two years. Buyers are no longer choosing scooters based only on range or price. Connectivity, software features, ride quality and daily usability have become equally important.

And this is exactly where Bajaj seems to be repositioning the Chetak.

Instead of chasing flashy gimmicks, the company has focused on practical upgrades that riders will actually use every day, faster speeds, better navigation, OTA support, riding modes and improved convenience features.

The addition of Google Maps integration particularly stands out because it closes a gap that many tech-focused EV rivals had already begun exploiting.

More importantly, Bajaj still retains what made the original Chetak name iconic in India – simplicity, reliability and trust. The challenge now will be balancing that legacy with the fast-moving expectations of modern EV buyers.

With these updates, the Chetak feels far more future-ready than before.
