Own an EV but scared of long drives? MG Motor India’s 1,000 community chargers across 470+ sites just solved your biggest worry. With this, MG Motor India EV charging infrastructure becomes the largest community charging network built by any OEM in the country.
India’s First and It’s a Big Deal
No other carmaker in India has done this before. JSW MG Motor India officially becomes the first OEM to build community EV charging at this scale. The 1,000 chargers span a wide variety of locations. These include residential societies, condominiums, hospitals, campuses, hotels and industrial parks. MG Motor India EV charging is not limited to highways or showrooms, it reaches the places where people actually live and work. Consequently, EV ownership anxiety reduces significantly for MG customers across the country.
290 Crore Green Kilometres: The Numbers Tell the Story
The milestone goes beyond just chargers. MG EVs have now cumulatively covered over 290 crore green kilometres on Indian roads. This translates directly into saving 4.17 lakh metric tons of CO₂ emissions. The environmental impact of MG Motor India EV charging is both measurable and meaningful. These numbers reflect real-world usage by actual customers across India. The company’s EV push is clearly gaining strong ground at the grassroots level.

JSW MG Motor India is not stopping at charging infrastructure. The company confirms an aggressive product plan for the rest of CY2026. Specifically, three new NEVs are slated for launch this calendar year. One of these will introduce plug-in hybrid technology to MG’s India lineup. MG Motor India EV charging infrastructure is clearly being built ahead of a larger product push. Buyers can expect both the hardware support and the vehicles to go with it very soon.
The Halol Plant Leads India’s Green Manufacturing Charge
The story behind the vehicles is equally impressive. JSW MG Motor India’s Halol manufacturing plant in Gujarat runs on over 78% renewable energy. The plant meets nearly 95% of its total power needs through renewable sources. The facility saves over 9,300 metric tons of carbon emissions every year. Water consumption at Halol has dropped by 23% through process optimisation and water recycling. The plant holds a Zero Waste to Landfill — Gold Maturity certification. MG Motor India EV charging and manufacturing together form a fully sustainable ecosystem.
Sustainability Goes Deeper Than Solar Panels
JSW has also adopted Industry 4.0 solutions at the Halol plant. Digitisation and IoT technology play a key role in cutting down energy use. The plant features a Zero External Discharge system that uses 100% treated water. The facility runs on cleaner PNG fuel across all processes. It also houses a Miyawaki forest with 5,700 plants and 21 recharge wells. Over 11,000 trees are planted across the green coverage area. Every layer of operations reflects a genuine commitment to sustainability.
What This Means for the Indian EV Buyer
For anyone considering an EV, charging access remains the single biggest concern. However, MG Motor directly addresses this worry at the community level. 470+ sites means the network already covers daily charging needs in most urban settings. Three new vehicles arriving in 2026 give buyers more options to choose from. Therefore, the combination of charging infrastructure and fresh products makes MG a strong EV contender in India today
