Škoda Epiq Electric SUV Revealed: Affordable Electric SUV?

The electric SUV market is growing fast, and Škoda now wants a bigger share of it.
With the new Škoda Epiq electric SUV, the Czech brand aims to attract young urban buyers and families alike.

Škoda Epiq Electric SUV Marks A New Era

Škoda Auto has officially revealed the new Škoda Epiq electric SUV ahead of its 2026 launch. Moreover, this compact EV becomes the first production model to fully adopt the brand’s Modern Solid design language.

The Epiq will sit as Škoda’s most affordable electric SUV. Therefore, it will play a major role in expanding the company’s EV portfolio globally. The new EV measures 4.17 metres in length. However, Škoda has managed to maximise cabin room through smart packaging.

Modern Solid Design Gives The Epiq A Fresh Identity

The Škoda Epiq electric SUV introduces a cleaner and sharper design direction. At the front, the SUV gets a Tech-Deck Face along with slim T-shaped LED lighting. Furthermore, the aerodynamic design helps the SUV achieve a drag coefficient of 0.275. This improves both efficiency and driving range.

The production version also receives rugged lower bumpers and multiple air intakes. Consequently, the SUV looks tougher than the original concept. Meanwhile, hidden front air channels guide airflow around the wheels for better efficiency. Rear winglets also reduce stone damage near the arches.

MEB+ Platform Focuses On Space And Efficiency

The Škoda Epiq electric SUV uses Volkswagen Group’s new MEB+ platform for small EVs. Additionally, the front-wheel-drive layout helps free up more cabin space.

Škoda has focused heavily on practicality. Therefore, the Epiq offers nearly 26 litres of cabin storage space. Boot space stands at 475 litres with all seats up. However, folding the rear seats expands luggage capacity to 1,344 litres.

The brand also keeps its famous “Simply Clever” features alive. Buyers get an umbrella holder, parking ticket clip, recycled ice scraper, and charging cable storage bag. An optional front storage tray under the hood adds another 20 litres of usable space.

Three Variants Will Be Available

The Škoda Epiq electric SUV will arrive in three variants globally. Each version targets different types of EV buyers. The base Epiq 35 produces 85 kW and uses a 38.5 kWh LFP battery. It supports DC fast charging up to 50 kW.

Next comes the Epiq 40 with 99 kW power output. Additionally, this version supports faster 90 kW charging. The range-topping Epiq 55 produces 155 kW and uses a larger 55 kWh NMC battery pack. As a result, it delivers stronger performance and longer range. The Epiq 55 can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 7.4 seconds. Meanwhile, its top speed reaches 160 km/h.

Range And Charging Details

Range remains one of the biggest strengths of the Škoda Epiq electric SUV. The flagship Epiq 55 offers up to 430 km on the WLTP cycle. Meanwhile, the smaller LFP battery versions deliver up to 315 km range. All variants support 11 kW AC charging. Moreover, the Epiq 40 can charge from 10-80 percent in just 28 minutes.

Interior Gets A Clean And Practical Layout

Inside, the dashboard follows a minimalist horizontal layout. The cabin also uses recycled materials across several trim options.

A 13-inch touchscreen sits at the centre of the dashboard. Additionally, drivers get a compact 5.3-inch digital instrument display. Higher trims receive premium upholstery options like Suedia and Techtona finishes. Therefore, the cabin feels more upmarket despite the affordable positioning. Ambient lighting also adds a modern touch during night drives.

Production And Global Launch Plans

Škoda will build the Epiq at Volkswagen’s Navarra plant in Spain. The SUV forms part of Volkswagen Group’s affordable EV expansion strategy.

The Škoda Epiq electric SUV is expected to start around €25,000 globally. Sales should begin during the second half of 2026. Australia will become the first non-European market to receive the SUV in 2027. However, Škoda has not confirmed India launch plans yet.

Why The Epiq Matters

The Škoda Epiq electric SUV feels important because it focuses on practical everyday usability. Instead of chasing luxury, Škoda has prioritised efficiency, cabin space, and affordability. That approach could work well in several global markets. Moreover, the Epiq arrives at a time when buyers want simpler and more usable electric cars.
