In a major move for its future growth, Royal Enfield has announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility and vendor park in Andhra Pradesh. Notably, this will be the brand’s first production plant outside Tamil Nadu, where Royal Enfield motorcycles have been built since 1955.

The upcoming facility reflects the company’s long-term strategy to strengthen production as demand continues to grow in both Indian and international markets.

Tirupati Chosen for New Facility

The new project will come up across 276 acres in Vanelluru and Rallakuppam villages in the Satyavedu region of Tirupati district. According to details shared by the Andhra Pradesh government, the development will happen in two phases.

The vendor park is expected to be ready by 2029, while the full-scale manufacturing facility is targeted to become operational by 2032.

Production Capacity to Get a Major Boost

Once operational, the Andhra Pradesh plant is expected to add an annual production capacity of nine lakh motorcycles. This will significantly increase Royal Enfield’s current manufacturing capability of around 15 lakh units annually.

The expansion comes at a time when the brand continues to strengthen its portfolio and expand its presence across global markets.

Thousands of Jobs Expected

The project is also expected to generate nearly 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities in the region. Andhra Pradesh IT and Electronics Minister, Nara Lokesh, confirmed the development, highlighting the state government’s push to attract more automotive manufacturing investments.

For Andhra Pradesh, the move could help position the state as an emerging destination for automotive production in the coming years.

Royal Enfield opening its first factory outside Tamil Nadu marks an important chapter for the brand. While Tamil Nadu remains deeply connected to the company’s identity, expanding into Andhra Pradesh shows Royal Enfield is preparing for bigger ambitions. With growing domestic demand and stronger export plans, this move feels less like expansion and more like preparation for the next phase of growth.
