Vida production is being rapidly scaled up across facilities. Output is expected to nearly triple before the end of 2026. Electric scooters could cross 50 per cent of Hero’s total scooter volumes by 2030. That is an ambitious but increasingly believable target given current adoption trends. A region-by-region rollout strategy is being followed carefully. Retail and service infrastructure are being added city by city — steadily. Hero sold nearly 55 lakh motorcycles and over 5.7 lakh scooters in FY26. Rural demand recovery played a meaningful role in this strong performance. Improved exports also contributed positively to the overall numbers. Q4 profit of FY26 rose by around 30 per cent. Revenue growth came close to 29 per cent during that same period. These are not small gains for a company of Hero’s size and scale. That momentum is now being channelled directly into FY27 expansion plans.
Rs 1,500 Crore Investment and a Clear Road Ahead
Capital expenditure for FY27 is planned at nearly Rs 1,500 crore. EV production, research and development, scooter manufacturing and future technologies are the focus areas. Hero is also targeting nearly 90 per cent PLI coverage for electric vehicles. Exports are expected to remain an important revenue contributor through the year. The company has already expanded overseas operations across multiple developing markets.
Products are also being adapted to suit local conditions in each export market. Meanwhile, Honda, TVS, Bajaj and several EV startups are all expanding aggressively in India.
